Why are we Indians always living in some dreamland instead of facing the realities of NOW? It seems we are perpetually engaged in talking about what we are GOING TO DO, which is always conveniently "in another two or three decades". It is very embarrassing to read these naive expressions of optimism and to think that others around the world could read them too.

In the old fable of the hare and the tortoise, the slow tortoise won in the end because the hare was overconfident and went to sleep. But what if the hare did not go to sleep but kept running?

We are all hoping that China, the hare, will fall asleep so that we, the tortoise, can beat them "in the future". But China is a country that never sleeps. If we have not learnt that much by now, we will never learn anything. For every meter we travel, they travel one kilometre. And they will keep doing that. Forever.

There is one HUGE difference between China and India. The Chinese leaders have a lot of National Pride. They are proud of their country, and are ready to work hard to do well in all fields. By contrast, we Indians are governed by thieves and looters who have no national pride whatsoever; they are only interested in getting rich and powerful at our expense. Their only pretense to national pride is the dirty "khadi" clothes that they wear, probably unwashed for days.

So, let us admit that we are going to be a third world nation forever; a dirty, crumbling, overpopulated and corrupt third world nation with fast-diminishing resources. That honesty can at least spare us the laughter of those who read our empty, childish boasts.

Hi Sharan, we can understand the hatred you have against the corrupted politicians and you are correct. But that doesn't mean India has never got the talent and power to overtake China, but what we need is that a proper plan and most importantly to work accordingly to achieve for that, which is not possible in the present scenario, thanks to some corrupted politicians and others.
